Whilst Mojácar itself is mostly beaches, you don’t have to travel far to find a plethora of other outdoor activities just a short drive or bus journey away.

Aquavera Waterpark (Closed Until 2024)

Dive into a world of aquatic fun at Aquavera Waterpark. With thrilling slides, relaxing pools, and a dedicated kiddie area, it’s a splash-filled day for the whole family.

The Aquavera waterpark is around a 15 minute drive from Mojácar Playa, and tickets can be purchased online or at the gate. They often have online deals and promotions after certain times of day so it’s best to check their website ticket page before heading over there.

Karting Garrucha

Unleash your inner racer at Karting Garrucha. Speed around the track, feel the adrenaline, and compete for the top spot. Suitable for all ages, it’s a race to remember!

Karting Garrucha doesn’t require you to book in advance, just turn up. During the off-season it’s generally quiet enough to not have to wait, however you do get large groups there in the summer months.

There are 2 different sized engines, 200cc & 300cc, as well as a small kids track for the little ones.

Expect to pay around €20 per head for the 300cc Go Karts, and €15 for the 200cc engines. A helmet is provided, but I would recommend wearing trainers not flip flops for the best experience as they are pretty nippy.

Marina Golf Mojácar

Tee off with a view at Marina Golf. Overlooking the sea, this golf course offers a unique playing experience with its scenic beauty and challenging holes.

Located a the far northern end of Mojácar towards Garrucha, this 18 hole golf course is a great day out for anyone visiting the area.

It’s best to book online to ensure availability, they also run regular promotions so be sure to check their website first.

Expect to pay around €100-€130 for the full 18-hole experience for 2 people and a buggy for the day.

Pulpí Geode

Marvel at nature’s wonders inside the Pulpí Geode. As Europe’s largest geode open to the public, it’s a crystal-filled mine that’s sure to leave you in awe.

Booking is an absolute must due to the limited tours per day. During the off-season, there is normally plenty of availability, but during the summer months expect to have to book several weeks in advance.

Overall it’s a lovely morning or afternoon out, very well-run and modern. We’ve provided an in-depth review for visiting Pulpí Geode which provides absolutely all the information you need.

It’s approximately 45 minutes to an hour’s drive from Mojácar, but it’s a beautiful journey through the coastal mountains between Villaricos & San Juan which is a spectacle in itself.

You can book tickets online on their website and can expect to pay around €22 per adult. The tour lasts around 90 minutes. It’s not difficult, but there are a lot of stairs involved. Definitely wear trainers for this one.

Here are some of the must-do water sports around Mojácar:

Lunar Cable Park Wakeboarding

Around a 30 minute drive from Mojácar, you can ride the waves like a pro at Lunar Cable Park.

Whether you’re a beginner or an expert at wakeboarding, the park offers a thrilling wakeboarding experience with its state-of-the-art facilities.

Lunar Cable Park offers a great day out for the whole family, offering wakeboarding, a huge inflatable obstacle course, kayaks, paddle boarding, and a lively outdoor bar & restaurant (that serves fantastic burgers by the way!)

You don’t need to book online, but it’s advisible during the summer months. You can book online via their website here.

They have a short cable 2.0 cable system, as well as a long 5.0 cable system. You can expect to pay around €25 for an hour of wakeboarding (with equipment) on the 5.0 system, or if you intend to spend the entire day there, you’ll be better off with a €45 day pass.

Garrucha Adventure Sports (GAS)

Dive into a range of water sports with GAS (Garrucha Adventure Sports). From jet skiing to boat charters and fishing, there’s an adventure for everyone on the waters of Garrucha, Mojácar & Carboneras.

Their boat and fishing tours mostly leave from the harbour in Garrucha (10 minutes from Mojácar), however their Jet Skis have now been moved to Carboneras due to safety fears with the large cargo ships docking at Garrucha.

Prices vary through-out the year, and most packages are custom, so contact them (they speak English) to get a quote for your big day out!

For those seeking a mix of water and land adventures, Toyo Aventura has got you covered. From kayaking through the Cabo De Gata nature reserve, to mountain biking, it’s all about the thrill.

Cabo De Gata nature reserve is huge, so you can expect around a 1 hour drive to reach their location. Unfortunately, there are no buses so having a hire car is your only option.

Whilst there website is only in Spanish, you can use the Google Translate feature in Chrome to translate everything as you browse.
